DELIVERY / SHIPPING POLICY

  1. INTRODUCTION
    This Delivery Policy applies to all services facilitated by Our Courier (Pty) Ltd, trading as Your Courier (“Your Courier”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Your Courier operates as a technology platform connecting customers with independent drivers for the transportation of goods.

  1. SERVICE COVERAGE
    2.1 Your Courier provides delivery services within selected areas of South Africa.
    2.2 Service availability depends on:

  • Driver availability

  • Pickup and delivery locations

  • Type and size of goods

  1. BOOKING PROCESS
    3.1 Customers submit pickup and delivery details via the platform.
    3.2 A driver is matched based on availability and location.
    3.3 A booking is only confirmed once a driver accepts the job.

  1. DELIVERY TIMES
    4.1 Estimated delivery times are provided based on distance and traffic conditions.
    4.2 These are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
    4.3 Delays may occur due to:

  • Traffic conditions

  • Weather

  • Driver availability

  • Incorrect or incomplete address information

  1. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
    Customers must:

  • Provide accurate and complete pickup and delivery addresses

  • Ensure goods are properly packaged and ready for transport

  • Ensure access to premises for pickup and delivery

  • Ensure a person is available to hand over and receive goods

Failure to meet these requirements may result in delays or additional charges.

  1. DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES
    Drivers are independent contractors responsible for:

  • Transporting goods safely and lawfully

  • Following the agreed delivery route

  • Communicating with customers where necessary

Your Courier performs background checks but does not directly control driver conduct.

  1. FAILED DELIVERIES
    7.1 A delivery may be considered failed if:

  • The recipient is unavailable

  • Access to the premises is not possible

  • Incorrect address details were provided

7.2 In such cases:

  • Additional charges may apply for re-delivery

  • The job may be cancelled without refund, depending on circumstances

  1. PROOF OF DELIVERY
    8.1 Delivery may be confirmed via:

  • Customer confirmation

  • Driver confirmation

  • Electronic or photographic proof

8.2 Once delivery is confirmed, the job is considered complete.

  1. GOODS HANDLING AND LIMITATIONS
    9.1 Customers are responsible for ensuring goods are:

  • Properly packaged

  • Safe for transport

9.2 Drivers are not required to:

  • Carry excessively heavy items without assistance

  • Enter unsafe premises

  • Perform specialised handling unless agreed

  1. . RESTRICTED AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
    The following items may not be transported:

  • Illegal goods or substances

  • Weapons, firearms, or explosives

  • Hazardous or flammable materials

  • Perishable goods requiring temperature control (unless agreed)

  • Cash or high-value negotiable items

  • Any goods prohibited under South African law

Your Courier reserves the right to refuse any delivery request.

  1. . LIABILITY
    11.1 Your Courier acts solely as a facilitator and is not liable for:

  • Loss or damage to goods

  • Delays in delivery

  • Driver conduct

11.2 Customers use the service at their own risk.
11.3 Any issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
